Chapter 4- My Mother Teaches Me Bullfighting

On the road again, in Gabe's Camaro, Percy, Sally, and Grover were driving away from the thing that was trying to get to Percy. Percy was asking strange question about Grover, Percy's own mother, and what was chasing them. Percy found out that Grover was a satyer, and that the greek myths are not myths they are real. Then the car was suddenly upside down. Percy and his mother were ok, but Grover was not. Sally and Percy carried Grover out of the car. Sally knew that they had to get the car out quickly. They were all hiding in the woods. Grover was still hurt badly. Sally told Percy where he had to go and that she could not go with him. Percy kept fighting against his mother words saying that she would come with him and Grover, even though Percy actually did not know where he was supposed to go. Percy dropped Grover, the Minotaur charged. Percy got away but his mother was caught by the Minotaur. It looked as though when the Minotaur grabbed her that she squirted into a million gold specks. The minotaur was making his way to Grover when Percy fought back with the weapon he got from Mr. Brunner. Percy slayed the Minotaur and got the minotaur horn off of its head. Then Percy used the minotaur horn and stuck the have man half bull with the horn. Which killed the monster. Percy was very sad, he wanted to lie down and cry, but Grover needed his help. So, Percy hosted Grover up on his shoulder, and started down the hill. Then he collapsed on the wooden porch, and say a girl with blond hair. She said something like he's the one. He must be but the sound was muffled.
I thought that this chapter was very exciting. A person who would probably like this chapter would be CHRISTINE LIEN because she seems as though she would like an exciting fast moving story. Also Christine is very smart so she would be able to comprehend this specific chapter. I really liked this chapter! STAY POSTED!!

Chapter 3- Grover Unexpectedly Loses His Pants

Percy's mother is named Sally Jackson. Her parents died in a plane crash, when she was five. Sally had to go live with her uncle. Her uncle got sick when she was in school and Sally had to drop out. The only luck Sally ever had was meeting Percy's dad. Percy did not remember his dad. Percy only remembered the barest trace of his father's smile. Percy's mom and dad were not married. His father was rich and important. The relation ship between Sally and Percy's father was a secret. Percy's mom told him that his father was not dead, just lost at sea. Sally married a man named Gabe Ugliano, who is a world class jerk. When Percy returned home, after ditching Grover, he hoped his mother was home, but he walked into see Gabe home and was playing poker with his buddies. He treated Percy as he normally did, awful. Percy went to his room, and then his mom came home. She came to see Percy and and told him that they were going to Mantuk, which is a beach. The first night was magical and disorderly. Percy and his mother talked about his father and how Mantuk is the place where they met. The disorderly part is that Grover showed up at the Jackson's house in Mantuk. Except it was not Grover. Grover had a normal human body, but his legs were replaced with goats legs. Grover was so angry at Percy, but he had to get Percy and his mother out of their beach home because they were in grave danger.
A person who would like this chapter would be a person who likes to be titillated. This person would probably be Alex Johnson. Alex likes how books, or movies can end in cliff hangers because it always leaves her wanting to either read the next book, or watch the next movie. Also Alex is very intelligent and can follow a story line, so she is good at asking her self question and keeping her brain sharp while reading a story. This was such an insane chapter in The Lighting Thief, and I need to read the next chapter before bed time!

Chapter 2- Three Old Ladies Knit the Socks of Death

In the second chapter Percy's life turns in to Chaos. (no pun intended) Percy gets expelled from Yancy and has to return home to the Upper East Side of New York, where his mother lives with her husband. Grover took the bus back with Percy. Grover kept mumbling to himself why six grade. Then the bus broke down. Every one had to get off. Percy sees three old ladies crocheting huge socks. Then Grover saw them and it made him more uneasy then when he was first on the bus. Grover and Percy saw the old ladies staring at them and cut a single thread. Suddenly Grover ordered Percy on to the bus. As quickly as the bus broke down it was fixed and the bus was on the move. Grover made Percy tell him what he saw, and without explanation Grover made Percy promise that he could escort Percy home. Percy agreed, but when the boys were dropped off Grover was so worked up he had to rush to the bathroom, and Percy slipped way back to his house.
I really liked this chapter because it was very funny. Percy is the kind of guy that is completely unlucky. I believe that i am the same way. I thought that this chapter was easy to relate to, except the getting expelled part, I have not ever been expelled. Also this chapter was exciting. Percy had no idea what was going on for most of the chapter. I feel like I do not know what is going on everyday! The person that would really like this chapter would probably be my sister, Sam. She is always looking for answers, and she ditches me when I want to do something with her.

Chapter 1- I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-algebra Teacher

The first chapter of Percy Jackson & The Olympians, the Lightning Thief, is very absurd. Percy Jackson is a sixth grade boy, who does not know who his father is and his mother married an horrid man. Percy's mom sends Percy to a different private school every year because Percy finds some way to get expelled. One day, Percy and his school mates go on a field trip to the Metropolitan Art Museum. This trip was constructed by Percy's favorite teacher at Yancy Academy, Mr. Brunner. The class spent most of the in the Greek mythology section of the museum. Percy only has one friend at his school, Grover. Grover has some disabilities and is made fun of a lot. Mainly they are both bullied by one girl, Nancy Bobofit. During the children's lunch Nancy was bulling Grover and Percy when all of a sudden the fountain water snatched Nancy and threw her into the fountain. The pre-algebra teacher, Mrs. Dobbs, saw the whole thing, and called Percy back into the Greek mythology section of the museum. Just as Percy thought he was going to get double detention for life, Mrs. Dobbs turned in to a bird type animal and tried to kill Percy. Mr. Brunner turned up in the door way and threw what seemed to be a pen, but when the object got into Percy's hand it turned into a sword. When Mrs. Dobbs turned the corner and lunged at Percy, he swung the sword and hit Mrs. Dobbs. She was vaporized and threw out the rest of the chapter every one acted as though they had no idea who Mrs. Dobbs was and they thought that she did not exist.
This chapter was so exciting. I am so excited to read the rest of this book. If the rest of the chapters are like the first one then the book will be a great one. I am a huge fan of fantasy books, but this one is fun and educational. I think that Mrs. Shipe would love this book because she teaches us Greek mythology. Even though she says that Greek mythology is not real it is really fun to believe that there is a reason that everything is the way that it is on Earth. I believe that Mrs. Shipe would enjoy a whole knew perspective on the god's way of life, and i believe that this book is the way to see it.
